An easy to grow bush type with all the sweetness of the celebrated ‘Sungold’, but without the requirements of a 'cordon' type. This F1 quality variety does not requite pinching of side shoots and grows best outdoors. Orangeto F1 also shows good blight resistance for reliable crops whatever the growing conditions. As a bush type it is perfectly suitable for larger patio pots and only requires support of the trusses of fruit become to heavy for its branches. An excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidants.
Sow indoors, a warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow 0.5cm (¼”) deep, thinly in a pot of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10-15cm (4-6”) tall. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out in patio tubs or baskets, when frosts are over. Do not pinch out side shoots. Growing tips can be removed if trusses become too large or provide support.
