Large, flat leaves which are full of flavour. Versatile and nutritious, for all types of cuisine. Herbs are so easy – you don’t even need a garden! Just a few in pots on the patio or windowsill will add that little extra to a dish.
Sow & Grow:
Sow Outdoors - Sow Giant of Italy Parsley Seeds, thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (1/2") deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered.
Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Thin seedlings to 30cm (12") apart. Water well until the plants are firmly established. Cloche protection in autumn allows winter picking.
Sow Indoors - Sow Giant of Italy Parsley Seeds indoors 0.5cm (1/4") deep, thinly in small plant pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of about 15-20C (60-68F) is ideal.
Plants can be grown on to maturity on a light windowsill.
Pick the leaves as required, outdoors crops from May onwards. Pick a few leaves from each plant so they regrow quickly.
Hints & Tips:
Use the leaves to flavour salads and sauces, and as a garnish. They may be dried or frozen but for best flavour use fresh.
